Surf school Fuerteventura - Private Coaching
Boost your surfing with private coachings
No group lines, no copy-me drills. Just you and your surfcoach at NOMB Surf, a licensed surfschool in the north of Fuerteventura.
Hola & welcome
Surfing with NOMB Surf is personal
NOMB Surf, that’s me, Angie Ringleb, founder, head coach, and the person you’ll actually share the line-up with (plus Rainbow, my four-legged assistant coach on beach duty). I started NOMB Surf because I believe learning to surf deserves better than being one in a group on the same wave.
Good coaching needs space on various levels: room in the water, calm line-ups, and an environment where you feel safe to try, wipe out, and try again. That’s what I build every session around. It also shapes when and where I coach and is the main concept behind my private coachings.
Why choose private coaching?
If you don’t want to get lost in the masses, that’s where NOMB Surf comes in. Individualised for your goals and level, it’s just you and your surf coach. Together we define your surfing goals and work on them in and out of the water. Through years of one-on-one coaching we’ve built a personalized, efficient and fun way to learn and improve quickly, no matter if it’s your first white water or your first green wall.
Undivided attention
One coach, one surfer. Every wave you take is watched, every take-off gets feedback, if needed. Nothing is lost in a group line-up. A personal surf coaching also always means getting tons of encouragement due to qualified time spent together.
The right spot, the right time
No fixed schedule chasing the clock. We surf where and when the conditions match your level which means more success in improving, more fun and of course a big boost of your personal surf motivation.
Overcome personal challenges
Coaching means learning in your own pace and your own terms. This doesn’t only concern your physical abilities, but also mental or emotional blocks and any struggles with surfing. We work on understanding and overcoming any struggles or former experiences.
How your surf coaching unfolds
It always starts with a get-to-know each other and a personalised briefing. We take our time to sit down with you to identify both problem areas and goals to create your individual surf coaching plan before hitting the waves. This maximizes the efficiency of the coaching itself as we know exactly what we’re working on together:
Surf prep
Spot check and explanation where we help you understand the spot for a better wave count, positioning and safer sessions. You’ll learn how to read and understand the ocean.
In the water
Direct 1:1 coaching in the waves, tailored to you. Often backed by surf theory that helps you read the ocean and dryland training for stance, pop-up and paddling.
After the session
We always finish with honest feedback and clear next steps. You’ll understand not just what to change, but why. If required we also use video analysis to deepen this understanding.
What coaching looks like for your level
Beginner
Learn the basics of surfing. We don’t only focus on catching your first white wash waves, but also want you to experience it in a safe environment.
Boardhandling & Safety in the water
Entering, surfing & leaving a surfspot safely
Correct take-off, stance & wipe-out techniques
Awareness in & out of the water
Experienced
You know the basics and want to improve your surfing in the green wave. Your goals might vary depending on your exact level as no experienced surfer is the same.
Correct positioning in the wave & line-up
Correct paddling technique & confidence in paddling out
Changing directions, frontside & backside turns
Bottom & Top Turns
Individual goals
You might be in between levels, have a specific goal or something you’ve always been struggling with. We always personalize our coaching according to your needs.
Duckdiving(submerge under approaching wave)
Advanced Manoeuvres (Cutbacks, Barrels etc)
Reading the wave & perfect timing
Facing & overcoming your fears
We follow the seasons for quieter line-ups
NOMB Surf moves with the rhythm of the seasons. When Fuerteventura fills up in winter, Angie heads to Chile for the Pacific chapter of NOMB Surf – and returns when the island slows down again and the waves offer more space for focused coaching. What does this mean for you?
Fuerteventura | May – November
From June to November 2026, and again from May 2027, Angie is coaching on Fuerteventura. For us, the best times to learn on the island: Fuerte becomes calmer, the spots feel more spacious, and coaching can be more personal, precise and relaxed.
Chile | December – April
During the European winter, from December to end of April, NOMB Surf moves to the Pacific: selected small-group surf trips along Chile’s wild coastline, local partners in the water, and personal planning support for independent surf travellers in Chile.
What some of our students say
A few voices of the lovely people we surfed with over the years; always appreciate the kind words that hopefully help you understand better how NOMB Surf coaches.
She doesn’t just teach technique — she really sees you as a person. Her feedback was always clear, kind, and incredibly helpful, so I always knew what to work on without ever feeling judged. Every small success was celebrated with genuine joy.
At the beginning of each session we analyzed the spot, made a plan on what to work on and set a goal for the day. That combination really helped me to focus and become a more independent surfer. 1000% recommend!
Angie is a super knowledgeable and welcoming surf coach. We managed to get to the right spot at the right time for a great surfing experience — waves suited to your level, wherever they are on the island.

Individual
Testimonial
“NOMB is just next level in terms of coaching. I spent 3 months with Angie on almost a daily training and couldn’t have dreamt of a better coach to hook me up with surfing and help me become an accomplished surfer.
What is so unique about the NOMB training is the attention put to every single details. Angie has developed such a strong complete methodology: From reading a spot, approaching waves, take-off training and compressions, this is a full program. BUT, and most importantly, it is incredibly fun to train at NOMB. Every single sessions were memorable and even if I had sessions underperforming, Angie was always here to support, Cheer-up and motivate even more for the next session coming. That’s just the way to go to level-up and building confidence.
All in all, just go and put your surf at work with NOMB, you won’t be disappointed. And I not only met a great coach, I also met a great friend. Go Nomb, Go Angie, Go surfing !
Aloha, Clem”
Conscious Surftravel
We love to travel around the globe chasing waves. Who doesn't? At the same time we are aware of the impacts surftravels causes. Adapting to the methods of sustainable tourism is the only way for us to operate. Therefore we strive for economical, socio-cultural and environmental sustainabilities in all our surftrip operations.
How does it work?
It means, that we deliberately work with local surfschools & partners and travel in off-seasons to leave economic benefit in the hosting community. It means, that we look for socio-cultural exchange and carefully integrate our surfteam by being open, showing respect and participating in local events. It means, that we leave any location in a better state than how we have found have it.
We know that tree-planting or offsetting alone doesn’t erase the impact of travel. So instead of just balancing emissions, we want to create real, local value. That’s why we invite you to take a closer look at our Environmental Policy and support our non-profit partner NOMB Changes. They work on ocean education, community projects and environmental action, right where we surf.
