Who's this for?

For every woman who’s curious, courageous, or somewhere in between

This one is for women who love the ocean and surfing, even when it challenges them.

For the ones who want to build confidence, catch more waves, and grow. Without pressure.

With one focused surfcoaching session a day, there’s plenty of time to relax, explore and soak up the island vibes. We create a space where you can be yourself in like-minded company.

Got fears or mental blocks? We’ll tackle those together, in and out of the water.

And while we’re at it, we gently encourage a bit of digital detox—because fewer screens often means deeper rest, better focus, and real connection. It’s a surf holiday with purpose, perfect for beginners to intermediate surfers who want more than just a tan.

From mellow to mighty: Guadeloupe's waves

Our home break sits on the Caribbean side with mellow, playful waves perfect for building confidence and dialing in your technique. Ideal for beginners and intermediates, it’s just a short walk from our homebase.

But we’re not glued to one spot. If the swell says go, we go.

We’ll explore both the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts. Think sunrise surf checks, reef breaks with no crowd, warm water, and line-ups you will not want to leave.

About Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe is a butterfly-shaped island in the French Caribbean. A mix of lush jungle, volcanic peaks, and postcard-perfect beaches.

As an overseas region of France, Guadeloupe runs on euros, French time, and baguettes, all while blending Afro-Caribbean roots, Creole culture, and island rhythms. The vibe is friendly and laid-back, with people who take their food, music, and community seriously. Markets are full of local spices, tropical fruits, and street food like bokit (basically a fried sandwich you didn’t know you needed).

French is the official language, but you’ll also hear Antillean Creole spoken among locals. Most people are warm and open, especially if you bring a smile and a few basic French phrases. Island life moves at its own pace, so things aren’t always punctual, but the sunsets definitely deliver.

There are direct flights from Paris, no visa needed for EU citizens. So it’s easy to settle in and focus on what matters: surfing, resting, and soaking up a different kind of everyday.

Guadeloupe's waves

January is a great time to be surfing in Guadeloupe. This is the heart of the island’s surf season, with steady swells rolling in from the north and north-east thanks to winter storms out in the Atlantic. The result? Reliable wave action that lights up plenty of breaks around the island. Some breaks are punchier, some cruisier, depending on the swell angle and wind.

Wave size in January tends to range from waist-high to well overhead, so there’s usually something for everyone. Especially on our side of the island.

The water stays warm, hovering around 28°C, so you can leave the wetsuit at home and enjoy full tropical freedom. Conditions shift with the wind, but mornings are often glassy and mellow—the perfect setup for focused coaching and solid sessions.

Guadeloupes's climate

If you’re into sunshine, salty skin, and warm breezes, January is a sweet spot for surfing Guadeloupe. It’s the dry season, which means more blue skies and less of the tropical downpours the island sees later in the year. Air temps sit comfortably around 27–30°C during the day, with cooler evenings that still don’t require more than a light layer. Humidity? Manageable. Rain? Rare. Basically, it’s the kind of weather that makes you forget socks exist.

It also means steady trade winds and warm ocean temps which is ideal for long surf sessions, lounging in the shade, or sneaking in a beach nap between waves. No complaints here.

We care about sustainability on our trips.

We strive to make our surf trips sustainable by working with local partners, promoting socio-cultural exchange, and minimizing our environmental impact.

We collaborate with local surf schools to support the local economy, engage in community events to foster cultural understanding, and ensure we leave every location better than we found it. We offset our carbon footprint through Sustainable Travel International and plant a tree for each participant at our headquarters in Fuerteventura, creating a direct, positive impact on the environment.

Daily Surf Coaching Overview

Surf coaching 100% tailored to you

Let’s be real: no two surfers are the same.
That’s why this isn’t a “line up and copy me” kind of surf coaching.
It’s all about personal progression and celebrating every little win along the way.

Expect:

Personalized coaching plan

1:1 feedback in the water (2 surf coaches for 4 students)

Video analysis & feedback

Surf theory and drills

Support with mindset blocks or fears

Paddling into better waves – with more confidence

You’ll be coached by Angie Ringleb (ISA Level II + certified lifeguard + ocean whisperer) and Fredo, our Guadeloupe local with sixth-sense wave knowledge.

Minimum surf level

This surftrip to Guadeloupe is open to women of all surf levels, from stoked beginners to confident intermediates (surf level 1–4).

You don’t need to rip – just bring a solid foundation and a willingness to learn. This trip is all about building skills, gaining confidence, and having a blast with a supportive crew.

To get the most out of the experience, you should:

Have taken a few surf lessons before (pop-up basics + surf etiquette)

Feel comfortable in the ocean and able to swim confidently

Be open to coaching, feedback, and a bit of healthy challenge

There's more to our trip than surfing

This isn’t a bootcamp. It’s a surf holiday in Guadeloupe. Which means:

  • Time to explore, unwind, and enjoy the island
  • Local hikes, a boat trip, maybe a hot spring soak
  • Dancing in the kitchen, naps on the terrace, beach BBQs
  • Trying bokits, fresh fish, and every fruit you can’t pronounce
  • Laughing till the coconut water comes out your nose

Trip Accomodation & Food

Laid-Back living, local flavor and NOMB-approved comfort

Welcome to your Caribbean home away from home. A breezy beach house in a sleepy fishing village, just a flip-flop stroll from the surf.

You’ll share a room with another surf sister (unless you request a single room), and everything’s set up for relaxed, low-key comfort. The vibe? Unfussy, islandy, and always NOMB-approved.

Think open spaces, fresh air, and salty breezes drifting through.

Accommodation on our surftrip to Chile

Food is a big part of this trip. We keep it real, local, and full of flavor.
Breakfast and dinner are covered, and the rest flows with the day.

Some days we’ll be cooked for, other days we’ll head out, cook by ourselves or grab street food on the go. Expect Creole dishes, tropical fruit, and maybe a plantain obsession or two.

Digital detox

Less screen time, more real time

No pressure, just a gentle nudge: We’re inviting you to unplug, even just a little. To reconnect with yourself, with the people around you, and with the rhythm of the island. No notifications, no doom scrolling.

Instead: conversations, presence, and that refreshing feeling of being exactly where you are.

Being in Guadeloupe feels like the rest of the world just fades away. I catch myself happily slipping into coconut time, where nothing matters but the waves and the moment I’m in.

Angie

Trip Organizer & Surf Coach

We’ll offer simple tips to unplug and reconnect – with yourself, the ocean, and your surroundings. No screens required for the good stuff. Like salty smiles, sunsets, and spontaneous dance sessions in the kitchen.

Read more about Angie

‘Many years ago I decided to live my life outside the box. My travels brought me to a lot of different corners of this planet, like Guadeloupe for example. I now live in Fuerteventura, where I run this small female-led surf school and the beautiful NGO NOMB Changes, spreading my love for the sport of surfing and the ocean on a daily basis.

Surf tripping and exploring new places is a big part of who I am. I love creating shared experiences that go beyond surfing—especially when they include coconuts and unreal sunsets.

I am an ISA level II qualified surfcoach, trained lifeguard and have over 12 years of coaching experience. I can coach in English, German and Spanish.

I believe that everyone can surf and enjoy the thrill of the waves, you just have to adopt the methods of teaching. I am looking forward to guiding you through this incredible trip in one of my favourite places on this planet!

Angie Ringleb – surf coach, ocean junkie, queen of clarity.
ISA Level II certified, with over 10 years of coaching women around the world. She meets you where you’re at and helps you build from there – with confidence, honesty, and a splash of silliness.

Fredo – born and raised in Guadeloupe, he knows these waves like the back of his hand. His calm, no-nonsense coaching pairs perfectly with Angie’s stoke.

Read more about Fredo

Fredo is our trusted local surf guide—born and raised on the island, and a lifelong surfer with saltwater in his veins. He’s one of those people who instantly makes you feel welcome. Real, grounded, and deeply connected to both the waves and his community, Fredo brings not just local knowledge but heart to everything he does.

His focus on inclusive surfing and community engagement runs deep, and he’s actively involved in international Erasmus programs supporting young people through sport and cultural exchange. We value Fredo immensely and are proud to have him join us once again for #Guadelles.

FAQs

What are the travel regulations for Guadeloupe?

Guadeloupe, as an overseas department of France, follows French immigration policies. European Union (EU) citizens can enter with a valid passport or national identity card without a visa. U.S. citizens do not require a visa for stays up to 90 days but must have a passport valid for at least six months beyond their entry date. It’s advisable to check with your airline regarding any transit visa requirements for connecting flights.

Recommended Vaccinations:

While no vaccinations are mandatory for entry into Guadeloupe, it’s recommended that travelers ensure their routine immunizations are up to date. This includes vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio (dTP-IPV), measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). Additionally, vaccinations for hepatitis A are advised for most travelers. Consulting with a healthcare professional before your trip is recommended to discuss any additional vaccinations or health precautions based on your personal health and travel plans.

How much do we surf on this trip?

We normally plan with one surf coaching session per day, so if you are looking for surfing all day long, this trip might not be the right one for you. However, if waves are epic, be sure that we will squeeze in the odd extra surf.

What does a surfholiday entail?

#Guadelles is a surf-focused holiday with daily coaching, but it’s not all about the waves. There’s time to rest, explore, and enjoy the island.

We stay in one homebase—no packing bags and moving around, just good surf, good company, and space to breathe.

Should I bring my own surfboard?

We do offer you a rental surfboard on the trip but highly recommend you to bring your own. If you have your own surfboard, please consider taking it on this trip (stuff your boardbag with your clothes). This way you won’t loose a session (or two) adjusting to a new board. Knowing your surfboard can be a real confidence booster.
