Perfect for cold water lovers

Our first ever surftrip to Scotland is designed for surfers who don’t mind cold water, want to surf daily and are looking for exploring this incredible country.

This trip includes a lot of firsts, surprises you will love. Be sure that waves will be epic, you will see quite a bit of beautiful Scotland and you will have a mighty good time.

#Scotaround is a mix of all our usual trip formats. It has the little bit of unknow of our adventure surftrips. It has the daily surfcoaching of our surfholidays. But it might also have the double surf sessions of our intensive surfcamp.

Explore Scotland's Surfing Paradise

Scotland is often overlooked when it comes to European surf destinations. And we really don’t know why because Scotland has it all: long sandy beaches, both Atlantic and North Sea Swells, roughly 18.000km of coastline and an unbelievable beautiful scenery.

You will be surfing some surprise waves but be promised, they will rocks. An example: an empty beach in the highlands, a stunning coastline and not many other surfers in the water. On this trip we will also have time for cool activities, taking advantage of Scotland’s vast nature. More surprises are waiting for you.

About Scotland

Scotland, located in the northern part of the United Kingdom, is a land of rich traditions where history and modernity blend seamlessly. Its people are known for their warmth, fun loving attitude, and pride in their heritage.

The breathtaking countryside, with its rugged highlands and serene lochs, shapes a vibrant culture rooted in music, dance, and storytelling, reflecting Scotland’s strong sense of identity and community.

Scotland's waves

Surfing in Scotland offers a unique experience with powerful, uncrowded waves set against dramatic coastal scenery.

The rugged coastline provides world-class surf breaks and despite the cold waters, dedicated surfers are drawn to Scotland’s challenging and rewarding waves.

The coastline provides a mix of reef breaks, point breaks, and beach breaks, catering to all skill levels.

Scotland's climate

May in Scotland is an amazing time to visit. Spring lets the highlands shine in it’s brightest green and outside temperatures are generally milder. Expect anything between 15ºC – 20ºC, sun, rain, pretty much a little bit of everything.

Being so far up north means having loads of daylight in June. The sun sets just before midnight and rises again shortly after. Long days make more time for waves and fun activities.

Ocean waters are slowly heating up after the long winter but water temperatures still average at around 12ºC. A solid 5.4mm wetsuit with boots, and maybe even gloves, are recommended.

We care about sustainability on our trips.

We strive to make our surf trips sustainable by working with local partners, promoting socio-cultural exchange, and minimizing our environmental impact.

We collaborate with local surf schools to support the local economy, engage in community events to foster cultural understanding, and ensure we leave every location better than we found it. We offset our carbon footprint through Sustainable Travel International and plant a tree for each participant at our headquarters in Fuerteventura, creating a direct, positive impact on the environment.

Surftripping and exploring different places is still a big part of me. Which is why I organise surf trips and share new experiences with a group of other curious surfers. Excited about discovering a new surftrip destination I am stoked that you join me. Thanks for your trust!

FAQs

What are the travel regulations for Scotland?

All EU, EEA and Swiss nationals (except Irish citizens) will need a valid passport to enter the UK. Your travel document should not expire during your stay in the UK.

EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can stay in the UK as a visitor for up to 6 months without a visa. Other foreign nationals might need to apply for a Standard Visitor visa.

How much do we surf on this trip?

We normally plan with one surf coaching session per day, so if you are looking for surfing all day long, this trip might not be the right one for you. However, if waves are epic, be sure that we will squeeze in the odd extra surf.

When should I arrive in Edinburgh?

Please arrive in Edinburgh at least one day prior to the trip. The meeting point will be announced shortly before the trip, and you will be picked up early in the morning. This way we can already get our first surf session in on the 12th and are not effected by flight delays etc.

What does a surprise surftrip entail?

As the name says, this trip is a surprise package. However, the following parts are guaranteed:

– daily surfcoaching session

– surf theory & video analysis

– activities & exploration

We will be changing locations, spend a lot of time in a group environment and try new things. Epic trip.
