Perfect for Motivated Surfers

Our intensive surfcamp in Galicia is designed for surfers who want the maximum amount of time in the ocean. With both a surfcoaching and a freesurf sessions every day, you will see your surfing improve quickly. Expect to challenge yourself (physically and mentally), redefine your limits and connect with like-minded surf addicts.

Be prepared for a surf-focused itineray that includes two surf sessions per day, surf theory (in and outside the water) and daily recovery sessions. This trip is all about surfing, however we also get to know Galicia besides it’s beaches. Go home happy, with sore arms and loads of new memories.

Explore Galicia's Surfing Paradise

Our intensive surfcamp takes you to the rather unpopular Westcoast of Galicia. We will be surfing different beachbreaks, some more mellow, others more challenging. Enjoy loads of waves during two surf sessions per day, soak up on fresh air and sunshine and get catered for with delicious food. Guided by our local guide Ramon, you will surf the best waves to be found every day. Coached by both Ramon and our surfcoach Angie you will surf safely in the most beautiful settings Galicia has to offer.

About Galicia

Galicia is located on the most Northwestern tip of mainland Spain. The stunning coastline is a bit rough around the edges sometimes, as pretty much every North Atlantic storm swell hits here first.

You will be staying in the region of the Rias Baixas, which is known for it’s mild micro climate, it’s marisocs (seefood) and Albariño (white wine). It is also know for it’s incredibly nice and welcoming people. Expect to be greeted in the line up and engaged in a friendly conversation.

Galicia's waves

Galicia has a lot of waves all along it’s 1.500km of coastline. You will be surfing on the Westcoast, home to a variety of different beachbreaks. Nestled in little bays there are sheltered waves to be found nearly every day, catering for every surf level.

Galicia's climate

In May, Galicia is normally showing off with all it’s weather facets. Days of sunshine, grey stormy days, and everything in between. May is pretty unpredictable so we always bring a bit of everything: tshirts, warm socks and a rain jacket.

Water temperature range from 16-18 degrees, comfortable surfable with a 4.3mm wetsuit.

We care about sustainability on our trips.

We strive to make our surf trips sustainable by working with local partners, promoting socio-cultural exchange, and minimizing our environmental impact.

We collaborate with local surf schools to support the local economy, engage in community events to foster cultural understanding, and ensure we leave every location better than we found it. We offset our carbon footprint through Sustainable Travel International and plant a tree for each participant at our headquarters in Fuerteventura, creating a direct, positive impact on the environment.

Read more about Angie

‘Many years ago I decided to live my life outside the box. My travels brought me to a lot of different corners of this planet. I now live in Fuerteventura, where I run this small female-led surf school and the beautiful NGO NOMB Changes, spreading my love for the sport of surfing and the ocean on a daily basis.

I am an ISA level II qualified surfcoach, trained lifeguard and have over 10 years of coaching experience. I can coach in English, German and Spanish.

Surftripping and exploring different places is still a big part of me. Which is why I organise surf trips and share new experiences with a group of other curious surfers. Galicia holds a special place in my heart and I am super stoked to return to it, together with you, in 2025!

Our surf trip is led by Angie Ringleb, an ISA level II qualified surf coach with over a decade of experience. Angie is passionate about sharing her love for surfing and the ocean. She will guide you through the waves and ensure you have a memorable experience.

Joining Angie is Ramon Alvarez, our local surf guide and coach. Ramon has been an irreplaceable gem since our first surftrip and he confidently guides us along his beloved coastline.

An essential on our trips to Galicia is professional wavespotter Rainbow. Being in her granny years, she is spending a lot of time chilling on the sofa or on the backseats in the van.

Always up for cuddles and a walk on the beach, she spreads her love with the team.

Our trips to Galicia wouldn’t be the same without our essential participants Rainbow and our private campchef. Rainbow, aka Rainsy-Baby, is a cuddle addict and an excellent wavespotter.

Our private campchef Ray Klein looks after us and recharges our batteries with delicious and healthy food. Always happy to share her recipes you will take away a full belly and a lot of cooking inspiration.

FAQs

When should I arrive in Santiago?

Please arrive in Santiago de Compostela at least one day prior to the trip. The meeting point will be announced shortly before the trip, and you will be picked up early in the morning. This way we can already get our first surf session in and are not effected by flight delays etc.

How much do we surf on this trip?

We plan with one surfcoaching session and a guided freesurf session every day. That’s if local conditions and arm power allows 😉

What is an intensive surfcamp?

On our intensive surfcamps it’s all about surfing. Two surf sessions a day (one coaching and one freesurf session) for a 14 days period will satisfy even the hardest surf addict.

Should I bring my own surfboard?

We do offer you a rental surfboard (included) on the trip. If you have your own surfboard, please consider taking it on this trip (stuff your boardbag with your clothes). This way you won’t loose a session (or two) adjusting to a new board. Knowing your surfboard can be a real confidence booster.
